Thursday June 27, 5-8p

Open to the public!

Ryan Patton is a 29-year-old from Brisbane, who recently graduated from Sonoma State University with a B.A. in Art Studio, and a concentration in painting.

He is interested in producing physical objects enthralled with color, and works formally with table cloths, bed sheets, and other non-traditional surfaces as a comment on excessive manufacturing and the intrigue around repurposing/recycling. He enjoys finding harmony in decorative material’s utility as aesthetic.

Large surfaces and complimentary colors are important to his work. These expanses of color delegate a visual play of light, space, and form. He holds to painting figuratively to explore the historical value of representational painting.
