Learn to Solder: Build a Phone Charger

45.00

July 16th, 6-8:00 PM

Learn to solder by assembling a MintyBoost phone charger kit which you can take home! This kit takes two AA batteries -- rechargeable or alkaline -- and adds a USB plug and circuitry so that you have a DIY phone charger on the go! No soldering or electronics skill required, just a steady hand and patience.

For extra fun, bring a small container -- at least 3" x 1-3/8" x 3/4" -- that can hold your project when you're done. Reused and repurposed containers are best! The original project called for a small Altoids Gum tin, however the gum has been discontinued, so use your imagination! Don't worry if you don't have one laying around, you can take home the project without a container, make a container yourself, or buy one online later. Half of the fun is making this your own, the modification possibilities are endless!

This class is family-friendly, spectators and children are welcome. Note however that soldering irons are hot, so supervision of anyone under 18 will be required.

If you have your own soldering iron, feel free to bring it, but all tools and materials will be provided.
