Lock Pickers Meet-up

Come join us for a night of lock picking fun and sport! Lock picking (aka locksport or sportpicking) is an easy, fun, and interesting hobby that challenges your mind and your senses.

You also develop a greater understanding of the limitations of the security devices you use in your own life.

FEBRUARY 8, 2017: Learn handcuff escape from an expert!

Our special guest is a escape artist with years of experience delighting crowds with street performance on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.

Anyone can teach you how to shim handcuffs, but this is a chance to learn tips and tricks from an expert, in a fun informal environment.

You'll also get to pick some locks and learn about locksport contests.

Bring your picks and practice locks if you have them. If you have no experience or gear, just come: get yourself out of some handcuffs and let us help you pick your first lock!

Bring your friends, all ages welcome (kids w/adult please)!

This meetup in general advocates the same ethics as The Open Organisation Of Lockpickers  http://toool.us/  (TOOOL):

1. Never pick or manipulate with the aim of opening any lock that does not belong to you, unless you have been granted explicit permission by the lock's rightful owner.
2. Never disseminate knowledge or tools of lockpicking to individuals whom you know or whom have reason to suspect would seek to employ such skills or equipment in a criminal manner.
3. Be mindful of the relevant laws concerning lockpicks and related equipment in any country, state, or municipality where you seek to engage in hobbyist lockpicking or recreational locksporting.
