Come learn about Arduino, the microcontroller that is taking the world by storm. This class will include an introduction to basic electrical concepts as well as how to work with are the Arduino IDE.
Arduinos will be available for purchase at the class. Please bring a laptop computer to program the Arduino.
No experience needed besides basic computer use.
This class will involve simple programming in the 'C' language, and use of the Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE) as well as a web-based interface hosted at codebender.cc.
We will discuss some basic electronics principals (how to wire up switches, LEDs, power supplies, batteries, etc...). You will get the most out of the class if you can bring your own Arduino board and computer to the class so you can take what you learn home in the same environment. However, we will have some Arduino boards here and some other sensors and LEDs and can probably set up a laptop if you don't have one.
The class will start out with a presentation, and end with the two instructors helping students get their own Arduino boards connected and running their own code.
