Notes about the coat: The Sapporo Coat is a wear anywhere coat and can be made fancy or casual.  The simple design makes it easy to sew! In this class you will create a muslin that can then be used to make a final coat out of wool for Winter, silk for dress up, or Linen for Summer/Spring.

Class 1- Discuss sizing, pattern review, and problem areas when sewing. We will also cut the pattern on paper and muslin.

Class 2- Finalize muslin prep and begin sewing the coat together.

Class 3- Continue sewing the muslin coat, fit for size and adjusting the patterns for a proper fit.

Class 4- Creating a lining and finalizing your project. Depending on timing and your own personal progress, you will leave the class with either a lined or an unlined Sapporo Coat.

Experience Level Required:

Attendees should be comfortable using their home machines for basic stitches and be capable of threading their machine properly.

Tools to bring to class:

Students should bring their own home sewing machine, any make or model will do.
